Letter to My 15 Year Old Self. . .

Hello, I know you are reading this with so much fear for the future and it’s ok to be afraid, sad and uncertain. All of these things mean that you are human and that you care. It is not ok, however to let your fears or doubts consume you or stop you from doing anything in life that you really want to do and that would be good for your growth. Pursuing your dreams is scary sometimes. It’s supposed to be, and it’s normal but never let those fears stop you, because time is very unforgiving. It moves fast and swiftly and often dreams can get left behind and are replaced with regret. You see, if it’s something that you really want to do, you will never stop thinking about it, whether you go for it or not. At least if you go for it you will know exactly what you are capable of. How powerful and capable you actually are, and if at first you do not succeed, try a different approach. There are no flawed people, only flawed techniques. So change the approach/ technique and try again. Surround yourself with friends who get you, love you and support you instead of putting you down - beware of crabs in a barrel. Jealousy will always tell you the things you can’t do, instead of praising all the things you can. Be aware of that. Uncertainty, often means you haven’t broadened your horizons enough. Travel - go on holiday with friends and family to places you’ve never been before. Explore new hobbies- think outside the box - see what fits - what YOU enjoy. Dont be confined by labels or other people’s dreams for you. Find your own voice, your own dreams, and own path, and trust your own instincts. Find your purpose whether that’s in the arts or science, be true to you and never be afraid to ask for help. Wishing you the best of luck xxx
